Canadian Designer John Di Cesare’s breath was taken when he first came to Japan and

experienced Nippon’s amazing umbrella and parasol culture firsthand! He studied umbrella design and started producing them in collaboration with Kyoto craftsmen. Resulting in beautiful and eycatching designs.

The event is linked to 100% Design Tokyo during Tokyo Designers Week. This event taking place from October 30 to December 30th at the Canada Embassy in Tokyo.

The Prince Takamado Gallery will show DiCesare’s products, such as his “Parashell” and the soon-to-be-released “Sakura” Parasol among other design works from Canada.
